- "The wage-earning voters of Rep. Cantor's district apparently felt abandoned by his immigration positions that virtually ignored their anxiety about stagnant wages and high unemployment and that projected primary concern for unlawful foreign visitors and employers seeking more foreign workers," NumbersUSA President Roy Beck said in a statement.
Up until now, the national GOP has been softer on illegal immigration than many Democrats, preferring to cater to business interests that long for cheap labor.
Will this be enough to get their attention, and force them to work for real, proper "immigration reform" ?
I define proper immigration reform as follows:
1: Secure the borders. By any means necessary. Moats, guard towers, whatever it takes.
2: Again, by any means necessary, locate and deport every single illegal alien in this country. No excuses, no anchor babies, no nuthin'. If an illegal doesn't want to be separated from his family or children, fine. They can leave with him.
3: Enact immigration policies, levels and so forth that look out for the interests of existing U.S. citizens first and foremost. Until we have unemployment rates under 1 or 2 %, with every U.S. citizen that needs to support himself able to get a job that pays living wages we have no business importing workers for any reason whatsoever.
Any politician who wants my vote had better be damned close to these ideals, or he has no chance of earning my vote.
