I am just wondering anyone keeping up with it. I have and it seems to me no matter who you help you are helping a bad guy. If Obama let's Assad fall or brings him down who takes over? Al Qaeda does which will be far worse. Here dome the war drums beating again.

I have been. First off, you're mistaken. Al Qaeda is there regardless. There are more of them in Syria than any Arab nation. Their reason for joining a sect of the opposition is religious.

Obama claims his reason for wanting a military strike, are solely because Syria used chemical weapons, and showed "alleged" proof. I call bull. Those videos were, at best, inconclusive. As has been noted, much of the footage looks similar to that filmed by Al Jazeera covering the war. But that footage is of people killed by disease/starvation caused by the war. We're talking people forced to live in a toilet for the last few years.

Everything going on over there, is internal. I hope Congress is wise enough to leave it that way. We have no interests there.

Putting his Al Qaeda buddies in charge is the whole reason Obama wants the war.

No, that's not it. As a matter of fact, it was the current administration that exposed the Al-Nusra Front as actually being the Al Qaeda. In April of this year, they finally admitted it. But they had no other choice.

Our analysis, says if in fact chemical weapons were used, it was them that used them, NOT al-Assad.

Russia has a diplomatic solution. We will know if Obama accepts it or not.

Obama won't. I hope Congress does.

Let Russia try to go there and seize the chemical weapons. I'm all for it, and hopefully Congress is too. Then when Russia and UN forces get jacked up by the Al-Qaeda, they can have their own little war, and leave the US out of it.

Agreed but I am with you but Obama will have non of it. Because if those weapons are from Iraq it will damage the democrats for decades.

Huh? The Democrats have nothing to do with this. But now it's Obama resorting to "stall tactics". He wants Congress to hold off on the vote. Hell no! Vote now and be done with it.

There is much more backstory to this, and clearly you don't know it. So allow me to bring you up to date.

Back in the first Gulf War, Hafez al-Assad was President of Syria, and part of the US led coalition, to toss Iraq out of Kuwait. During Desert Shield/Storm, he used Syrian forces to cut off all of northern Iraq. Nothing in or out by air or land. No resupply from another nation, and no running to another nation to hide either.

He died back in 2000. Bashar al-Assad (Son of Hafez) then came to power. His first move, was to get rid of all military officers not loyal to him. He pretty much started another dictatorship. A small faction of Al Qaeda left Syria and settled in Iraq. It was them that got "cozy" with Saddam. Bashar also got cozy with Saddam because, well, he's an idiot. At the time, he had no idea what the Al Qaeda were or stood for.

When the UN voted on the invasion of Iraq, Bashar used Syria's seat on the security council to vote against it. When that failed, now he and Saddam have to find a way to ditch Iraq's chemical weapons before the invasion (2003). But the problem, is they can't use military forces/equipment to do it. If they did, everybody would see it, and know exactly where they went, and with what.

So the answer was to use civilian transport, and the Al Qaeda. To any witnesses, there was no military involvement from either nation. Just bunch of guys, moving a bunch of stuff to Syria. No idea what it was, or who they were.

After the invasion, many things come to light. We know the chemical weapons were moved to Syria, but now al-Assad knows what the Al Qaeda are and stand for. Now he's really hosed. He isn't a Sunni Muslim. He's an Alawite.

His dictatorship isn't doing so well either. But as far as I'm concerned, this is all Syria's internal business.

As I said before, let Russia deal with this. It's all their fault anyway.

I am not arguing with you. But I do not think Obama will let any UN inspectors in. If for some odd reason any of those weapons are from Iraq it make Obama look bad. God forbid if that happens.

So I was talking to a lady at work older lady. Big Obama fan he can do nothing wrong. I said what do you think of Syria. She says "Oh it is horrible I don't want to go to war". I then said well it is Obama that is doing this. She says " No it isn't it is the republicans that want to go to war". Right then there I just gave up. You cannot fix stupid.

Now even Putin has gone public and said if chemical weapons were used, it was the opposition (Al Qaeda) that used them, NOT al-Assad.

So Obama isn't fooling anybody. Putin took a chance that much of America already knew the truth, before he went public. If he was wrong, he'd look like an idiot, but if he was right, it's payday baby, and he was right!

Obama cannot keep Russia or the UN out of Syria. Especially with al-Assad already having laid out the "welcome mat" to them.
