What offends me Walter, are the implications that no matter how hard you work in this country, you still can get called out by a white person to prove that you belong. Trust me, this was done 2.5 years ago, but that didn't satisfy those th...at absolutely hate the idea of a mixed race kid, raised by a single white mother, educated on scholarships & federal pell grants, can ascend to the highest, most powerful office in the United States!! Then They immediately moved on to his grades from college like he was an affirmative action charity case!!See More

Well, unfortunately that is the way of politics. Totally sucks completely, but I've seen it happen to the Whites just like the Blacks when they get this high in public office. Happens to both sides, and will continue to happen regardless of... how 'advanced' and 'forward thinking' we all become. It is written that the world is going down a bad path, and I see nothing to convince me otherwise.
Do not rail at things you or I have less than no power to control OR change, not saying don't accept it, just don't get overly worked up about it either, just forgive and pray you don't become as those men.See More

As an educated Black person, YOU know when they're dogwhistling & catering to the racist elements in our country!! None of this crap has anything to do with his policies or the fact that he was Elected by a majority of voting Americans in ...2008. They've called him everything except Nigger and try to triangulate policies that negatively impact minorities in this country. So, as a conservative, what makes my blood boil is that even though this effects YOU too, you fail to acknowledge it for what it is. Even though you're in college, paying your dues to have a better life for you & your family, the system that they are imposing won't help you. You won't be in the Top 2% of wage earners, contribute to their campaigns in large numbers, or invest enough in companies that would justify the incentivized outsourcing of jobs that have decimated the manufacturing sector, undermined the housing sector, opened gaping holes in the tax code that allows those very same upper crust elitists to pay for play, or that would continue to unjustly transfer wealth up the ladder while increasing the debt burden on the rest of US that work & pay into the system so that we can have retirement with dignity.See More

Yes, I believe you are correct. I called where we are when NAFTA was signed, I waved goodbye to American Jobs when we gave China favored nation status, when, in Ca. HUD took the families in the gang areas out of the city, and moved them to ...the suburbs claiming this was the way to take away the 'power' of the gangs when all it did was introduce them to an under prepared peoples. I knew, also, it was going to be a bad idea when, instead of strengthening the family unit, they gave welfare money based on how many children the female could produce and never once asking to name a father to BE responsible. Oh yes, I watched in horror when the LOTTERIES were introduced as a way to supplement the education budgets but instead supplanted those budgets knowing full well they would never bring in the kind of money to maintain the level of education before the lotto was introduced. I believe also, that ANY leader in our society should not be 'forgiven' for outright RACIST statements when RUNNING for our highest office, nor should said person be allowed within five states of that office. But maybe I really am not as forgiving as I should be.
Also, tell me this, let's say everyone works in the public sector, where does the money to support the government come from? Let's say the rich people that do own most of these businesses decide they no longer wish to support this government but instead either close all they own OR move to another country?
Call me naive, but my MBA says to have a truly functional government, the businesses need to be free to do business, and if they are not doing it right, they lose customers to the businesses doing it right. But again, what I think means nothing because people still want everything for nothing. I should say people, I am sure there are more that want to work for their money, but the neighborhood I grew up in, do you know MOST of MY family (not immediate, but the rest) was in an uproar when I announced I was going to school when I was put on disability. Know what the main thing I heard was? "Why? The government OWES you this money, you don't HAVE to work, so why don't you just take what they GIVE you?' THAT was the most depressing thing I had heard up to that point, to think my own relatives thought someone 'owed' me anything, and that I should just TAKE it instead of working to better myself.
Sure, I know my skin color IS and has BEEN an anchor to me getting what I have wanted in the past, but Charles, I will NEVER let it be said that I didn't get what I wanted because I accepted that 'they' would never let me in just because! Ain't how I roll, which is another reason I tend to lean conservative. I have seen the other side and it saddens me. Actually BOTH sides make me sad, but one more than the other.
