You cannot sing the National Anthem at the Lincoln memorial.

Students told to stop singing the national anthem at the memorial. Here is the story. A group of high school students attending a conservative leadership conference in Washington, D.C. said they were ordered by a security guard to stop singing the national anthem during a June 25 visit to the Lincoln Memorial. “They told them to stop singing,” said Evan Gassman, a spokesman for the Young America’s Foundation. “I was taken aback. You wouldn’t expect a display of national patriotism to be censored." U.S. Park Police confirmed that the students were in violation of federal law and their impromptu performance constituted a demonstration in an area that must remain “completely content neutral.” “The area they were standing in and singing is an area that is restricted for this type of activity,” said Sgt. The decision to sing the national anthem at the memorial was a spur of the moment event, according to Shawn Balcomb, of Richmond Hill, GA. “We got maybe two lines in and a police officer came over and he was yelling,” Balcomb said in a telephone interview. “He quieted us down.” Balcomb, 17, said the officer told the group they were being too loud. “I was dumbfounded,” he said. “I didn’t realize there was something wrong with singing the national anthem.” Schlosser said the students would have been in compliance had they moved approximately 25 steps from where they were standing. “It’s not the content of their activity – that being the national anthem – it’s the location,” he said. “A couple steps and it would have been no problem whatsoever.” Instead of doing as they were instructed, Gassman said the students resumed the song – an impromptu form of civil disobedience. “If their idea of civil disobedience is singing the national anthem, then so be it,” Gassman said. “Let them disobey.” YAF posted video reportedly shot just after the alleged encounter with the security officer. It shows students loudly singing the anthem. “That’s the most offensive thing out of all this,” he said. “They really did not provide the students a reason,” said Gassman. Balcomb, who is a high school senior, said they didn’t intend on creating a ruckus – they just wanted to show their patriotism. “It’s not like we sounded great or anything,” he said. “We just wanted to pay respect to our nation – in our capital.” Schlosser, who commended the students on their musical ability, said the students were not cited and to his knowledge no report was filed. “We need to make certain that all other visitors that don’t want to be a part of that or just choose to be tourists are able to do so in the same light that probably President Lincoln wanted – which is completely content neutral,” he said.

That's right. That's why we need to remove all US flags, sayings, historical quotes, etc and in fact statues like that of Lincoln, Washington, etc from the US capital. After all not everybody wants to see that and we need to keep the capital content neutral. As it is, it is far to US positive biased. What we really need to do is rip down all monuments and government buildings.

The government buildings can be replaced with non descript, non adorned gray square cement buildings. Then just ban any and all US flags, adornments, sayings, history etc from being displayed, talked about or even acknowledged to exist.

But of course naked gay parades, sex and flying of the gay flag in the streets of the US capital will be just fine.

Replacing all government buildings with stuff like this would really get rid of that offense pro US content from the city.

I guess that means we can't have anymore military parades or honor guard funerals at any government functions either any more to, right? Oh, hell, why don't we just ban the National Anthem at baseball games too why we are at it? I say SCREW them pansy non patriotic cry babies! I think they should keep on singing and make them lock them up, that would really be something to put on TV when they go to court over being Patriotic and singing the National Anthem :!:

Well maybe on 8-28 for Glenn Becks rally we will all start singing the national Anthem.

I sure wish I could make it there, but I have to hang around here till my son gets better. He had a a really bad wreck, they said at first that he wouldn't make it. But he is as hard headed as his Daddy and too stupid to lay down and die. Thank God!, that he is too! He crushed ALL (front & back) of his ribs, collapsed both lungs, had three cuts over two inches long radiating out from the top of his head, torn the right half of his nose off, and his right eye lid was cut almost off too. He should be dead, they air cared him over 100 miles with all of that and WALKED out of the hospital 3 weeks to the day. They said he would be in ICU for 2 to 3 months and in the hospital for another 3 months recovering, Man did he prove them WRONG! He is hurting but, he will make it.

only about 65, but on these mountain roads that isn't good. He lost it on a curve and went off about a 20ft drop into a creek bed that was all stone and boulders. It broke all 4 axles on the truck when it hit and then flipped over on the top and crushed the cab to the seat. This was one of the few times he didn't wear a seat belt, if he hadn't been thrown through the windshield when the truck hit, he would have been crushed into the seat. That boy (35yrs and I still call him a boy. LOL) is one lucky sucker. He was chasing his ex when she took off with his new mustang, his daughter saw him wreck from the back seat and told her mother and she just kept driving, never even slowed down.

Wow! He is lucky to still be here. I hope the ex is feeling mighty guilty. Anyways I guess you be at the rally in spirit.
