What a mess! The Deputy found the pod, but doesn't know they're not human. Katrina and Ryn slugged it out, and Katrina lost, maybe at the cost of Katrina's life.
LT. Martinez almost has Xander ready to rat out the mermaids. That means he will tell her they are with Ben and Maddie.
The pod needs to get back in the water, causing the pod to move locations. Xander knew they would be at the cabin, and the deputy already found them there. It's simple now. All anyone needs to do to find the mermaids is find Ben and/or Maddie.
And lets not forget the reporter snooping around. So from every possible direction, everybody is closing in on the mermaids, even if they don't know what they really are.
Then if that's not enough, we discover there are more people related to mermaids in Bristol Cove.
