EP 1 :The Arrival
So it seems this season, the threat to the mermaid population is oil drilling. The technology they use to map the ocean floor is deadly to marine life. Pretty much the same as the navy messing around with sonar arrays. Luckily they stopped, but it had the same effect seen in this ep.
Anyhoo we see Ben and Ryn are trying to keep their distance, but don't really want to. Xander is being played by the military but doesnt know it. Both Maddie's mom and Ben's as well have hidden agendas. One of the females in the pod is preggars, and Ryn is still having issues with Katrina (old mermaid leader).
Things yet to be resolved:
1. Who is replacing Dr. Decker?
2. Did the mermaids eat all the people that were on the military trawler ship Cortez?
3. With Decker dead why does the military still want mermaids?
What to look for this season:
1. How long before either the town or military discover mermaids are not only real, but now on land?
2. What will be the reaction of both?
3. What is Maddie's mother and Ben's mother really up to?
4. Will Xander rat out the mermaids?
