WikiLeaks Vindicated Bush and WMD in Iraq

Apparently, the press missed this important story. No, they didn't miss it. As they always do, anything that makes Obama look bad or George Bush look good, they simply don't print.

Over a year ago, Larry Elder reported on Townhall.com concerning what was revealed in the WikiLeaks dump.

In 2003 , President Bush said in the State of the Union address that, "The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa."

And WikiLeaks defacto declassification of privileged material makes it case closed - and true. Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction and intended to restart his program once the heat was off.

Former Ambassador Joe Wilson had gone to Africa to investigate, returned saying he found the statement without merit. Wilson implied Cheney had sent him when in fact, his CIA-employed wife had sent him. And he lied.

The Brits stood by the claim, as did the anti-Bush Washington Post as they had discovered Wilson had told the CIA the exact opposite.

Bush's exact claim was that Iraq sought uranium, specifically yellowcake, the seed material for higher-grade nuclear enrichment. It can be enriched for use in reactors and, at higher levels, nuclear weapons using sophisticated equipment.

Time had a field day with Bush, entitling one article "Is a fib really a fib if the teller is unaware that he is uttering an untruth?" Time went on to say how Bush had told a falsehood. Has Time ever corrected their headline? Hell no.

They then went on about Joe Wilson, The Man Who Told the Truth to Power.

Never mind that the bipartisan Senate Intel Committee had stated Wilson's report "lent more credibility to the original CIA reports on the uranium deal."

Amazing, isn't it, how much damage the liberal press does when they simply refuse to print stories that don't favor their lies or their man.

Time blathered on - no yellowcake, therefore no WMD's, therefore no "grave and gathering threat".

But there was yellowcake, lots of it. Noah Shachtman, non-resident fellow at the liberal Brookings Institute researched the 400,000 leaked documents and discovered that for years afterward, U.S. troops continued to find chemical weapons labs, encounter insurgent specs in toxins and uncover WMD ... and especially chemical weapons on the Iraqi battlefield.

Remnants of Saddam's toxic arsenal remained and there was evidence of other countries, possible Iran, coming into Iraq to help themselves and make their own deadly agents.

In 2008, our military shipped out on 37 flights in 3,500 barrels the last of what the AP called the major remnants of Hussein's nuclear program - 550 METRIC TONS OF YELLOWCAKE.

To get around reporting the truth, the liberals in the press simply decided to no longer consider yellowcake WMD. On top of that it was, well, old...maybe degraded. Not what they expected the military would find. Didn't look like WMD.

Then-Democrat National Chairman Howard Dean ignored the truth and said there were no WMDs found. Maddow insisted there was overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

Certain liberals posting in the Miner, in spite of one poster directing them to actual pictures, still insist there were no WMDs. A terrible injustice has been done to President Bush all these years.

He could target people like Obama does, but being the gentleman that he is, he has simply endured the lies and kept quiet.
