| I just did a bunch of updates and did one for my video card. What a difference. The picture is amazing. It much sharper then what it was. I have a Nvidia 260. The update was the best one I have ever seen. I am not a Nvidia fan but I am now. | |

| Yeah, my computer has a bunch of outdated drivers, but I don't know if there's any way to download updated drivers for free. Do you? | |

| POV: Most likely, your screen resolution wasn't set at the native resolution for the screen you're using. With LCD's, operating at something besides the native reso. seriously degrades image quality. Installing the driver probably allowed it to use the correct setting.
Skycastle: Determine exactly what hardware you have in your machine, and go to each manufacturers' web site to see if there are newer drivers available. Most manufacturers offer updates for free. But you are on your own installing them. If you're unsure of your abilities to do so, might be best to have a local tech do the work, as it is possible to cause problems if mistakes are made. Also, bear in mind that some laptops use specialized drivers for some hardware. Check the laptop maker's site too.
Windows will also offer updates for some hardware through Windows/Microsoft Update, if it's set to check for them.

This is different the picture just far better. I use the Nvidia control panel for resolution. Its like the screen jumps out at you now.

I think you can do it with XP also. Let us know how it turned out and how you did it.
